Over the last few months I have been actively searching for a house for myself in France, first around the Pyrenees region and now around the Alps (Three Valleys and Tarantaise areas mainly). I have viewed a lot of property and have seen some good deals, although not always right for me. If you are interested in ski property in this region of the Alps please let me know if I can be of any help. Whilst Courchevel is of course very expensive, property a little further down the valley around Bozel and Brides Les Bains and Moutiers is much more reasonable. And if you purchase yourself a holiday home here, I am happy to look after it for you, clean it, check it regularly and help you rent it out.

Examples of properties recently viewed:

french house for sale This mountain house is ready to move into but could do with a little work and modernisation. However, it is a great price at just over 136,000 Euros. It is around a 10 minute drive from the larger town and resort (both winter and summer) of Bozel, 25 minutes from Moutiers (large supermarkets) and maybe 20 minutes from the ski lift at Le Praz, the lower Courchevel ski resort. It is in a lovely hamlet and accessible in winter. There is a fitted kitchen, bathroom , toilet, lounge with lovely fireplace and two bedrooms. There is a large loft space which could be converted and a basement. It could do with rendering on the outside and the balcony from upstairs replacing. It would rent out well to people working in the area and seasonaires (for probably around 700 to 1000 Euros a month if basically furnished) and until recently has been rented out.

french house for sale in CourchevelThis is a fantastic property and I was seriously tempted myself. It is in a lovely mountain hamlet, accessible all year round and with fabulous views across the valley to the ski area. It is a semi detached stone house with new roof. There is a large basement, a gorgeous open plan farmhouse style kitchen and living area, bathroom, large pantry and then 4 rooms upstairs and a shower room and large walk in closet. It has a parking area and a massive terrace and is on the market at 260,000 Euros. It is around a 15 minute drive from Bozel and less than 30 minutes from Courchevel - Le Praz. Needs a little work upstairs but perfectly habitable and excellent permanent home, holiday home or rental property.

I also viewed a 2 bedroom house just 2 minutes up the road from Bozel and less than 30 minutes to two of the largest ski areas in Europe (Three valleys and Paradiski) with some lovely traditional features and large basement suitable for conversion into a separate apartment and large loft for just 230,000 Euros, a brilliant top floor apartment complex in Brides Les Bains for over 300,000 Euros but consisting of a lovely 2 bedroom main apartment and two studio apartments, great rental potential. Small apartments close to the ski area are available for under 100,000 Euros and offer excellent investment opportunities and for rental income.

The couple of houses below are properties for sale by friends of mine in France. I know both these properties personally and know both the owners well. For more details of either please contact me using link on the left.

house for sale in Blajan  House for sale in France

Village house for sale in Blajan, which is situated in the Haute Garonne region (dept 31) of South West France, mid-way between Toulouse and Pau airports and just 20 minutes from St Gaudens and around 45 minutes from skiing in the Pyrenees.

This pretty village has its own boulangerie, tabac and post office, and is situated just 5 minutes' drive from the market town of Boulogne-sur-Gesse with its restaurants, bar, shops and supermarkets.

The house comprises a living room with open fireplace, kitchen, understairs cupboard, two bedrooms, a shower room with wc. The interior has recently been redecorated. The facade has yet to be painted and electricity to be reconnected (recently disconnected as used to share counter with house next door).

The property has no garden, therefore by virtue of its low maintenance, could be ideal as a holiday home, a gite or as a first step on the property ladder.

Excellent buy for someone wanting an easy to manage holiday home in an extremely beautiful area - with the Pyrenees close by, many famous French towns like Mirepoix, Carcassonne, Cahors and Pau and Lourdes within an easy drive.

house for sale near pyrenees house for sale in Francehouse for sale in France house for sale in France house for sale in FranceThis is a fantastic house, right at the base of the Pyrenees. It is a traditional Gascony type farmhouse with lovely shutters, wooden floors and large fireplaces. The property is located in the Val De Aran, just 20 minutes from the Spanish border and 20 to 30 minutes from Super Bagneres ski resort, Le Mourtis smaller ski area and Peyragudes ski area but still only 5 minutes from the motorway to Toulouse and large supermarket. It is opposite the famous village of St Bertrand De Comminges with its catherdral and the Tour de France passes close bye.

The house was built in 1859 and downstairs you have an entrance all with oak staircase, kitchen, dining room with wood burning stove and bathroom. On the first floor there are three rooms and then on the top floor a large loft with bedroom and large living area.

The house benefits from new PVC windows more or less through out and new wiring and plumbing but it still retains much character.

The property had a new roof in 2006, new septic tank and sewerage system in 2004, new 3 phase electric , all new plumbing and new plastering and decoration inside.
