Around Kazanlak & Pavel Banya 

Kazanlak

Kazanlak is in the heart of the
Valley of the Roses and each year on the first Sunday in June there is a
large parade and celebration of the rose growing trade in the town. Whilst
the outskirts of Kazanlak are fairly run down with the usual tall, grey
communist apartment blocks, the centre as undergone regeneration and is
pedestrianised with fountains and many cafes and shops. The town is only
minutes away from the Balkan mountains and the famous Shipka pass and
Russian Church.
Also the region is now equally as
famous for the discovery of the ancient Thracian tombs that dot the
landscape and are slowly being excavated and opened to the public. The
museum in Kazanlak houses some of the treasures found in the tombs.
Around the town there are some
beautiful villages nestled at the base of the mountains and in the valley
between the Balkans and the Sredna Gora hills. Property on this side of
Stara Zagora does tend to be a little more expensive due to the proximity
to the mountains and Kazanlak.

13,000 sqm Plot in Kazanlak
A large plot ideal for a small supermarket and car
park in residential area in Kazanlak town. Easy access from main road
into Kazanlak from Stara Zagora (Sofia-Burgas road) and amongst
residential housing blocks.
Kazanlak is a good sized town but lacks any
large supermarket. Certain large supermarket chains have shown some

Pavel
Banya

Pavel Banya is just over 20km west of
Kazanlak, back towards Sofia and is a world renowned balneology centre for
the treatment of bone diseases and things like arthritis and rheumatism.
The mineral springs pump out water as hot as 63 degrees C. There is a
large treatment centre as well as many outdoor pools and baths. The town
is popular with tourists and has many restaurants and cafes and a large

Good Plot With Old House
This sweet house is situated in a large, vibrant village very close to the Sredna Gora Mountains and with the Balkan Mountains on the other side. The village has a beautifully restored Rose Distillery, a traditional washing area where the locals gather to do their laundry and sit and have a drink while the clothes dry in the sun on huge racks, a clean and pretty river and a couple of cafes and shops. It is close to the famous mineral spa treatment centres at Pavel Banya, a short drive from Kazanlak where the Rose Festival is held each year, close to a large reservoir and not far from the Thracian Tombs the area is famous for (as well as for its Roses) and the Shipka Pass and Russian Church. The area is very good for walking, cycling, climbing and hiking and bird- watching and there are a number of mountain chalets in the area offering hospitality after a days hiking.
However the house itself is not in good condition. It has a hall with a room off to the left, a small room straight ahead with another room off this to either side and there is also a room on the right of the hall. On the right hand side of the house there is a mud brick summer kitchen and the roof on this has collapsed taking with it a little of the main roof and wall on the right. The floors are also not in great shape. It is likely that the best course of action would be to knock down the old house and rebuild on the footprint.
That said it is a lovely plot with two fantastic authentic barns with the possibility to either convert them using traditional methods or build on the footprints with appropriate planning. There is 1000sqm of land. There is a stone wall in excellent condition surrounding the entire property. There are lovely views to the Balkans in one direction and the Sredna Gora mountains in the other.
