Below you will find a collection of
different properties for sale that I think either represent very good
value for money, are an excellent investment or stand out for some other
reason. These are the properties I would buy if I had a never ending pot
of money. Besides each property you will see the reasons why I think this
property offers something a little different.

Very Cheap House/Plot in Pretty Area
This house is in a nice village in the Sakar Mountains,
25 km from Galabovo, 50 km from Svilengrad and 70 km from Stara Zagora.
The house itself has character but is small and very
old and really (unfortunately) needs knocking down. The current house has
good stone foundations and 2 rooms on each floor. The second floor
certainly needs rebuilding. It might be possible to use the ground floor
and foundations to rebuild a small holiday home. There is also a lovely,
large barn on the plot.
However, the plot is large at 1,410sqm and would make a
nice plot for building a larger house on. The draw back is that to one
side, maybe 10 metres from the edge of the plot, is a little stream and
while this should be a nice feature, as with many water ways in Bulgaria,
it has a lot of rubbish in it. You cannot see this from the plot but it is
a consideration.
This property would make an idea buy for those looking
for a 'buy it and sit on it' type of investment. At only 4,000 Euros it
works out at less than 3 Euros/sqm for a regulated plot.

Large Regulated Corner Plot
This plot is 1,600sqm and is in a lovely,
quiet village only around 50 km from Burgas and just off the main
Sofia to Burgas road. There are other Brits that own in the village.
The plot is on a corner and two tarmac
roads go on either side of it. There is water and electric to the
plot.
There are no close neighbours and good
views across the countryside.

Fantastic Character Property For Renovation
with Stunning Views In its time
this was the best house in the village but has not been abandoned for many
years and fallen into rack and ruin, yet with some TLC and of
course money, this would make a magnificent, imposing family home.
There are 6 rooms covering 130sqm and a
plot of 1000sqm with lovely views to the hills and village. Accessed by a
good, gravel track, it is 20km from Lovech in the village of Katunec.
It requires all new windows and doors, roof
repairs, new wiring and plumbing, septic tank, internal and external
plastering so is not a project to be undertaken lightly but it is cheap
for the size of property and plot and once renovated, would be simply
fantastic.
I have never personally seen this house but
it belongs to a friend who inherited it from his grandfather and is now
looking to sell it.

Typical Solid House 25km from Veliko Turnovo, near
river This house is in a pretty, small
village just 25 km north-east from from Veliko Tarnovo, 18 km from Gorna
Oryahovitsa.
The main house consists of a large central hall with
2 large rooms and a smaller room. Stone steps lead up to the main house
and a large terrace of around 10sqm with nice views over the plot and to
the surrounding countryside.
Attached to the main house is an extension with a
living area, kitchen room and basic bathroom and toilet at the end. Steps
lead down into a good sized basement under the main house.
Additionally in the yard there are other agricultural buildings totalling
about 120 sq m. One of them is a barn on two floors, used in the past for
breeding animals with a total area of 80 sq m – 40 sq m per floor.
The house is in good structural condition for its
age (built in around the 1950’s) but requires refurbishment.
The village is small but with all basic amenities like church, food shop,
restaurant and local GP. There is a river only 100 meters from the house
with a few small lakes with excellent fishing conditions.

Four Room House 24km from Stara Zagora
This 2-bedroom house is situated in the
village of Opan near Stara Zagora. It is only 24 km away from Stara Zagora
and 30 km from Dimitrovgrad. Whilst Opan is not the most attractive
village and the area is a little featureless, the house itself represents
good value for money.
The house is on two levels and consists of a large
central corridor on the first floor, which is used as a kitchen and 2
further rooms. The second floor as a large hall, 2 large rooms and a
smaller room. The house is sitting on a 670 sq m regulated plot of land. The way to the second
floor is via external staircase. There is a garage and an agricultural building.
There is external toilet with a bathroom outside the house.
The house is in fairly good condition and good value
for the size property. It has attracted a fair amount of interest from
both English and Bulgarian buyers but so far no-one has decided to go for
it.

good value for money for size and location. A good one to buy and sit on
for resale later, or renovate now and sell on to either local or foreign

Large Plot This house is on the edge of
the village and is in good condition with a huge plot of 2,500sqm and
loads of small outbuildings and a lovely summer kitchen.
The main house is accessed by external stone steps
and you go into a large central hall, suitable for a living area or
kitchen. There are then three large rooms off the hall. All are in good
condition with wooden floors.
There is also a basement currently used for storage
which consists of 2 rooms and has wooden beams.

This would make a very nice house. It is set on one
level with a large terrace at the front and then a corridor with two rooms
off it and a bathroom. The bathroom has all the plumbing in place and
leads to a septic tank but requires tiling and all appliances fitting.
There is a small fitted kitchen and dining area, another room and through
this a further room.
The house is concrete and brick construction with
stone foundations. It has a relatively new roof and a plot of around
1000sqm. The next door plot and barn are also for sale for an additional
cost. Access is good down a tarmac road and the plot is private and not
over looked by any other houses.
This property needs very little work except for
bathroom fitting and possibly external plastering to make a lovely holiday
home. It is set in a very pretty village, about 20km from Stara Zagora and
in the mountains. It is about a 20 to 25 minute drive into the city.

Good Sized Regulated
Plot Near Dimitrovgrad together with 20,000sqm of Agricultural Land
This offers represents a
regulated plot of 1,850 sqm for sale only 7km from Dimitrovgrad and in
the village of Radievo, about 44km from Stara Zagora. It is situated
close to the main road from Dimitrovgrad to Stara Zagora and there are
other properties to one side of the plot. This building plot is for
sale for 6,000 Euros (including commission) and so is only 3.2 Euros/sqm.
It is available for sale separately, however the same family are also
selling two parcels of agricultural land (15,000sqm and 5,000sqm) on
the edge of the same village for a further 11,500 Euros including
commission.
I have not personally seen either of
these plots but they do seem to represent good value for money.

Beautifully Renovated 2 Bed House with Large Plot
I considered buying this old property a couple of years
ago but clients decided to purchase it and renovate for resale. Even prior
to renovation, it had real character and now it has been renovated to a
high standard, but keeping traditional features sure as the fireplace,
wooden floors and ceilings, fitted wooden cupboards. I over saw the
renovation and am very pleased with the end results. It is now a lovely 2
bed room house, ready for moving straight into.
The property is about 30km
from Stara Zagora and 15km from Chirpan. The village is situated just off
the main Chirpan to Stara Zagora road and the new motorway is only 5
minutes away and runs from Sofia eventually through to Burgas.
The village is fairly small but has an attractive

Lovely, 2 Bedroom House, completely renovated, lived
in by English This is probably the best
house I currently have for sale, given the condition, the amazing garden,
all additional features and utilities and the very reasonable price.
It belongs to very good friends (English) who moved
out here to this property around 6 years ago and have done an awful lot of
work on it. And the garden is fantastic.
It is situated in the village of Nikalievo, a 5
minute drive from Gurkovo (and Hemblass pass over to Veliko Turnovo) and
about 40 minutes from Stara Zagora and Sliven and around 25 minutes from
Kazanlak. It is a large village with all amenities. The centre has a
couple of small super markets as well as other shops such as small DIY
shops and clothes shops. There is a health centre with 2 local doctors
plus a weekly specialist from Stara Zagora, a dental clinic and a chemist.
There is a post office, bank, small gym, coffee bars, small summer
restaurants (2 very good ones we regularly visit) and a bus station, train
station, petrol station, church and theatre.
The village is just off the main road to Sliven and
the Black sea coast and Kazanlak and through to Stara zagora. It is close
to the Sredna Gora mountains where there are many walks, a small hostel, a
wide variety of flora and fauna and the Balkans are just over the road on
the other side so perfectly placed for those enjoying nature and walking.
There is a river running by the village and lakes nearby with good fishing
(Carp, Bream, Roach, Rudd, Perch, Pike, Chub, Barbel, Crucian Carp.....).
The house was previously the country residence of a
highly honoured and famous Bulgarian historian and chancellor of the Sofia
University. His monument stands in the centre of the village.
The house itself is a 5 minute walk from the centre
but down a quiet (tarmac) street. You enter the house through a gate into
the completely landscaped and lawned garden. There are then 2 entrances to
the house. One is through the main wooden door into the hall and the other
is into the large conservatory room.
Entering through the main door into the hallway,
